Bullying - "Kids bullied" at school since they are turned away at lunch time due to not have money to pay...

Bullying - "Kids bullied" at school since they are turned away at lunch time due to not have money to pay...

Why are kids being "shamed" for something they can't help? And for the lunch room people to allow those kids to be shamed is just horrid.

What if it was your kid? What if you were not able to give them them lunch or fix a lunch for them. Maybe they go to bed hungry... then have to go to school and have nothing to eat.

I know some think this cannot possibly be happening, but it is, and it's i a pure horrible day in our nation when ANY child goes without ANY meal!

Taxes are paid annually... plus money for many other things, like football, and other sports, or other things for school. Some as nearly as crucial as our kids kids getting fed daily.

Even if they have to just fix the kids a "sack lunch" with a sandwich, milk, jell or pudding, or a piece of fruit... far better than them being shamed, going hungry, and being treated like so badly, Just like you see the elderly ladies buying tuna, for themselves nd their cats.

It is just a sad day in this nation when that other crap goes on ,fighting and fussing at the Capitol, rather than making our kids are getting fed daily.

More on Bullying....

A Perfect Example right now going on right there on FB!!! I went for months and months with NO people asking to "friend" me. Over the last 2 months I bet there has been 40 or more, BUT when you look at their page, heck they just gotten on FB in the past month or less.. they have NO posts, barely a profile, NO other friends OR they are now "inviting" women especially to friend them. They "show" to be from other country's some I don't even recognize the country....I have "friends" from over the world, and that is great BUT not when they have no "affiliation" to any type of community, or do not have any friends that are mine also. These are the type that you never know whether they are "real" or up to trying to scam someone, or hurt someone, or do something that is not legal.... no telling what they are up to. That is why I feel it is SO CRUCIAL we let our kids going back to school, to be careful, keep a watchful eye out, and remember as hard as it is to fathom, right in our own communities large or small, people are immoral, mean, looking for a way to hurt someone, or do something that can destroy a life in one way or the other.. BULLIES can look like you or I, they can come from the "house next door", or down the street... we may work with them, go to school with them, or church with them. They can be standing next to you at the market, or in the bank.. We just never know anymore what someone could be thinking or ready to do...It is difficult to think your own neighbor may have a house full of guns ammo, poison, bomb making stuff (which thy can get innocently enough if they want or heck just or just order it online ... make their own guns! With the money for the right type of printer & proper plastic printing material , they get the directions right off the internet to make one without any type of serial numbers or way to identify it.

Stomp Out Bullying! Even with School going to be out Bullying still continues, so Help Your Kids Learn How to Deal with Bullying...

Don’t Let Stigma Prevent Getting Help

Fact: One in five adults in the United States experience a mental health condition in a given year.
Fact: Half of all lifetime mental health conditions begin by age 14.
Fact: Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States.
These are sobering. But here is another fact: Mental health conditions are treatable. Mental Health Awareness Month raises awareness about recognition, treatment and recovery, and why it can be far more successful. One of the largest hurdles to mental wellness is addressing the stigma surrounding mental health.

School Will Be Out Soon, But Bullying Persists

School will be out soon for the summer and is already out in some parts of the country, but that doesn’t mean kids are always safe from each other. Kids and teens have more unstructured time in the summer, both in and around their neighborhoods and at day or sleepaway camps. This creates a wonderful sense of freedom and space, but it can also leave room for bullying. Cyberbullying is also of special concern in summer, when kids often have more screen time and less supervision.
We all want our youths to be happy, safe and healthy. To help prevent bullying, parents and caring adults should learn how to recognize the signs and how to intervene. Bullying happens when someone repeatedly asserts his or her power by being aggressive toward a weaker person. The aggressions can be physical, verbal, or relational. And bullying commonly occurs when adult supervision is limited. Cyberbullying is on the rise, where bullies torment others online, often anonymously.

Social media sites do not allow users under the age of 13 on their sites, yet kids under 13 find a way onto social media. Some parents register their young children on social media just because their kids’ friends have accounts. That is simply the wrong thing to do. These sites require kids to be 13 or over because kids younger than 13 are simply not mature enough to handle what can transpire on these sites.
Look for signs of summertime bullying:
  • Making excuses to not go to camp, sports practice or other gatherings.
  • Unexplained bruises, torn clothing or missing belongings.
  • Problems with sleep or appetite.
  • Secretive/sullen behavior or outbursts of temper.
  • Seeming upset or depressed after using the Internet or a mobile phone.
  • Losing interest in using the Internet, social media, computer or a mobile phone.
  • Bullying younger kids (bullied children may switch roles and become the bully).

BullyingChangesHow to counsel and intervene:
  • Never tell your kid or teen to ignore bullying or to retaliate.
  • Talk with them. Ask what’s going on at summer school, camp or online and how he or she is feeling.
  • Don’t criticize how your son or daughter handled the bullying. Help him or her come up with safety strategies, such as telling an adult, walking away or asking friends for support.
  • Teach self-respect. Confident youths are less likely to become victims.
  • Encourage friendships and building social skills. Bullies tend to go after kids and teens who are alone.
  • Let the summer program or camp authorities know about your safety concerns.
  • Report cyberbullying. Save copies of abusive posts or texts, and notify the appropriate summer program personnel that these activities are taking place.
Take these considerations into the summer months, and you will be helping your child address - and ideally prevent - summertime bullying issues. If you do know a youth is going through a tough time, refer them to our HelpChat Line which will be open all summer. Live, trained volunteers are available to help youth, ages 13-24, through issues surrounding bullying and suicide.

Do things EVER GET better from here??? Part 1- more to come...

I absolutely know that those directly effected by Hurricane Harvey, along with 2 more, one a category 5 STORM now, and the horrid nature of fires burning our entire Pacific Coastline nearly; along with other natural and man made disasters, we all wonder what the heck is next!?

As the news talks about the horrid events now days, they make it so utterly scary that many of us don't want to even walk out of our homes... between terrorism that comes in small, medium and HUGE FACTORS, how Mother Nature is reeking havoc in almost every state in the USA, and even across the waters into Europe. and the Asian countries, each day I wonder, will it ever get better? Are we just "doomed" to never see the "light" of day again, under all of the horrible things going on?

Our Federal Government is a total mess! That is stating it in a mild way. We are bound if we sit around, and allow it to be in a 3rd War soon, and none of us will be able to afford health care, and as some of us feel, we think the government just soon us "die" than to have to care for those chronically ill or elderly. That is a terrible statement but that is honestly how they come off now when they talk about "Obama" Care, and the ACA, and so forth.

We "used to be" the greatest nation in our world. Yet we are greedy, narcissistic, petty, arguing, not caring, or have no patience or compassion for the many of us suffering, whether it be physically, mentally or emotionally. Oh yes, everyone "comes together" when a huge disaster strikes, but on a daily level, of everyday life, people in general, not ALL but many could care less about their neighbors, people they work with, and even family members, much less strangers off the street.

While the entire world watches, the maniac in No. Korea is pounding and stomping, ready to annihilate our nation and others. I realize that although many wanted the current person as President of our country, I feel now there are those that wished they had not made that decision. He has no tact, he didn't in the running, he has no "people skills" and relies on his "team" that keeps either leaving or getting fired to "mop up his mess". How we can sit around and allow our President to "tweet" just anything he "feels" at the moment is beyond my comprehension. People griped about Hillary's emails" - well as far as I am concerned, what the "current" Leader of our nation does daily trumps (love it the word play there) LOL!  .. any email Hillary ever had compromised....

From the insurance ordeal, to him making more "enemies", to his "brushing" off the common daily person, with his attitude, to how he continues to cause this nation to possibly be in an all out war... he is just a train wreck waiting to happen.

"We" as a nation, seem to live now in one type of horror, or more than one these days. Whether it be physical illnesses, often chronic, acute health issues requiring emergent care, getting robbed, having some type of "terrorism" so close to us, knowing that there are those that just as soon "completely rid" the world of our country's people, high prices, and less wages... we live now in a society that nothing is ever "calm" , without stress, or have days that we are not worried about one thing or the other.

These are times of complications every where we turn. Health care costs are soaring. When a medication that is "necessary" to keep us with a good quality of life, in in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS A MONTH, OR WE MUST JUMP THROUGH HOOPS, anytime we have a health problem/ The days of bullying is at an all time high. Kids no longer can be "kids"... from the time they are very young, we in these days must teach them "how to not be harmed".. whether it be physically, mentally or emotionally. Now the "bullies" lurk not just face to face, but on the internet, causing so many of our children to be terrorized at a young age. Kids must watch out for those with "guns", knives or other weapons, in the time of their life that those things should not exist.

"Stomp Out Bullying" October Month

With School just beginning this is a HUGE issue for so many kids!!!! I am in total support of this campaign... after being a "bit overweight" as a teenager, I was "teased" about it, nothing like what happens now, but it did effect me, even today.... I see an "overweight" girl when I look in the mirror... so "any" type of teasing, etc... can effect our kids the rest of their lives....

All Kinds of Things Going on personally and in our nation.

Many of you probably had your eyes glued to your television sets yesterday, much like my husband and myself did. We were going to take a break, and eat a quick "brunch", as we began to hear the news on CNN. At that time we had not had the opportunity to read any of the breaking news, but it was evident that something potentially bad was happening in several of our airports. As we began to listen to the events unfold, it was an extremely familiar reminder of September 11, 2001. Possible explosives headed for Chicago. Planes possibly carrying packages with explosives in them. Several airports under alert, and also at least 2 airports, one in the UK, and another in Dubai, effected by all of this. It was such a reminder of the morning of 9/11, when the world was glued at that time to their televisions, radios, and anywhere they could to get the latest about airplanes running into the World Trade Center towers in New York, as other ones were a seeming threat to the White House, and also to the Pentagon, as another crashed into that building. It was a living night terror, surreal and just to the point of some of us wondering if it was a huge hoax, kind of like HG Wells, and the alien trick played so many years ago, before television was even invented. It was a huge story line, and his book depicted the "events" in such a manner in a journalistic format, which made the story unfold as if it were real.

Of course, yesterdays events unfolded and all of us knew it was not some elaborate hoax, but was a very real situation. One that now has left us with many unanswered questions. Some we may never know answers to. Others due to the extreme nature of needing to be top secret, the government I am sure is not disclosing, just due to not wanting information to get into the wrong hands.
We are asking things such as why these particular packages were headed from Yemen to the US? Where they actually "explosives" completely set up and designed to be detonated? Were they "pieces" of an explosive device or devices, that were to go into the hands of someone who were put them together and later use them as a bomb plot against us? Is there a further "agenda" by those terrorists involved to watch how we handle the situation, and they are readying themselves for another attack? Is it a test of our Homeland Security, a test of our nations airports, a test of just how capable we are to handle another massive attack? Where they truly meant to explode at a specific location, at a specific time? Or was this just a decoy while they decide their next terrorist move against our country and many other of our allies. We already know these people despise our nation and our people. We already know that many are willing and ready to sacrifice their own lives in the name of religious beliefs, and die for that cause.

Did our "intelligence" work? Did our tactics put in place since 9/11 take care of such a horrendous situation such as 9/11? Are we as individuals and as a whole nation on alert enough, do we have security in the proper places enough, are we watching closely enough to be fully prepared for another night mare such as that fateful September day? My thoughts are that out of the millions of bits of information that are gathered on any given day right here in our nation, along with many other nations, that we have to be doing an incredible job of thwarting these plots. Of course as individuals not in the government agencies, we do not know just how many potential bits of information lead to nothing, or lead to a plausible situation in which we do act upon to stop such a horrific event from taking place again on our own soil. Yet, it is mind boggling between what takes place on the internet daily, the millions of emails, posts, websites, blogs, and such alone that you have to wonder how we could catch such things as the possibility of attacks again. Then you have all types of other ways to communicate, to be mobile, to be around the world in a matter of hours now. We are such a mobile community, with cell phones, computers, fast traveling air planes, the railroad, cars, the wireless internet where you have "hot spots" all over this country and the world now for that matter, than can be used to send information immediately, without any lapse time. Even you just consider UPS, FEDEX, and all of the other ways packages can travel from one continent to the other in a matter of even a day, and that does not include by ships, 18 wheelers, the postal service, etc. that at any one time something can be shipped from somewhere in the middle of nowhere, and be sitting in our of our nations huge city's in a matter of hours. Needless to say when you really sit down and think about the reality of how our Homeland Security Dept. as well as our law enforcement, our several other intelligence agencies, and even us as watchful citizens can be able to intercept such items well before they reach where they are meant to do nothing but harm us, maim us, scare us... all in the name of their own teroristic nature.

It also brings to mind the whole bullying thing that has been in the spot light now for weeks. It just blows my mind to think we are raising young kids that are already developing a hateful nature when it comes to their peers. We know that "teasing" has gone on forever in schools, and anywhere children are in groups. From the time we were all in school, we usually had one or two kids who were trouble makers, and deemed as "bullies" in our schools. Yet, then a "bully" certainly was not the connotation of what we mean as bullies these days. I cannot fathom young kids making such a mockery of their own peers that it causes such a horrific problem for the tortured child, that they even remotely think about wanting to kill themselves. I recall being "teased" and it was not funny at all. I was a bit overweight during my teen years, and I endured some name calling, etc. due to my weight. Until this day some of that does haunt me. Even though I took the weight off just after graduating high school, until this day when I look in the mirror, I see that chubby high school student, and it puts a damper on how I feel, and my self esteem. Some of it caused my own issues with how I feel about my body, how I feel about even gaining a pound, and how I present myself in public... all of it at times stems from those days of being called names in school.

Yet, now, it is far from being the typical name calling about being overweight. These kids are being fully attacked about all aspects of their lies. The hateful and bitterness witnessed today among our youth, is not just a tease but full blown hate crimes in many ways. When you are verbally, mentally, emotionally, and physically attacked by those that should be your allies, those that are supposed to be your peers, it hurts more than just a name calling event.

My question is why this is happening? Where are these kids learning to be so incredibly hateful, mean, and showing no compassion, no decency, no manners, no feelings for those around them. Is this something they see all too often or even taught at home? Is this stemming from lack of parental control, lack of family life being what it used to be, from what they see on video games, hear in music, read in books, see on television, and witness by others where youth are. We definitely as a nation, as schools, as youth events, as parents, teachers and the like need to get a grip on these events. There needs to be punishment, education, and ways that these kinds of happenings are put to bed for good. These kinds of actions can only lead to adults that are going to be more hateful and more apt to hate crimes, if something is not done to stop these kids.

It is an ongoing battle that certainly needs to have attention and prevention done. The answers are probably not all black and white, but shades of gray as to how to handle these events, how to give our kids more self esteem, more empathy, more respect, and more morality. That has to come from home first, then from teachers, pastors, and all adults that are around our nations kids. Respect is something that seems to have been thrown out of teaching. Respect is something that needs to be definitely brought back, for both children and also for many adults.
